Jill Kneisley Chitwood: I went my entire elementary years at Claridon Elementary School. I was PTA President for 3 of those years and a VP for one. I then advanced up to the High School and finished by graduating in 1980. While I was there I was involved in the Art Club, Varsity Volleyball Team and in my Senior received Honorable Mention as setter in the district. I was also involved with the Girls Basketball team as a 4 year manager and then stats with the boys Basketball team.

Once I graduated from RVHS, I went to Marion Technical College and graduated in 1982 with a Business Administration Degree. Received a Billing Clerk position at Whirlpool Warehouse and worked there for 6 months before marring Wayne K. Chitwood from Huber Heights, Ohio. I worked at Whirlpool Warehouse for 6 years and then quit after having my first child, Patrick. I was a stay at home mom having two beautiful children. Patrick and Kelly who are now a Senior and a Junior. Pat is in the Marching Band, Music Company, New Rhythm Boys, the musical and the local Marionaires Barbershop Harmony Group. Kelly is in Cross Country, Track, the musical stage crew and stage crew manager for the Music Company & New Addition

I was recently hired as the new Office Manager for the Marion Mayhem Professional Indoor Football Team. I am in charge of all office activities as well as sales for sponsorships and help with game day activates.

Rob Artz is currently Vice President of Bulkley Dunton Publishing Group, a division of International Paper. My wife, Jodi and I live in Gahanna. We have a daughter, Natalie (1) and are expecting another daughter in November. My son, Michael (9) from a previous marriage, is in the 3rd grade at Wilder Elementary in Westerville.

After graduating from RVHS, I attended The Ohio State University and earned a Bachelor Degree in Business in 1986. I earned my MBA from Ohio University in 1995.

Kevin M. Johnston - I attended Waldo Elementary and River Valley until my senior year when I went to Tri-Rivers and took Jr. Law Enforcement the 1st half of the year and Sr. Law Enforcement the 2nd half of the year. Much to my regret I lost contact with a lot of my RV friends. I have been employed at Marion Correctional Institution since 1984. I married in 1992 to Monetta Cooper of Ontario, Ohio. Kathleen (Curran) Knickerbocker married her high school sweetheart, Paul and went in the Seminary for The Salvation Army in 1983. She was ordained as a minister in 1985 and has been appointed to various locations from Houlton, Maine to St. Louis, MO. They were appointed to The Salvation Army in Marion in Sept. 2010. They have 2 daughters, Katelyn (11) and Jerica (6) who both attend the River Valley School System. They hope to be here in Marion for awhile. Todd Hardgrove graduated from Bowling Green State University in 1986 with a Bachelor's degree in Statistics. He lived in Huntington, IN for four years where he met Karen Wheeler. They got married on Mary 26, 1990. They have no kids between them, but Karen has two boys (Shane who is 26 and Christian who is 29). Shane has a 2-year old girl, Morgan; Christian has a 2-year old boy, Colton and a 3-month old girl, Sophie. In December of '90 they relocated to Cambridge, Ohio where he got a job as a Quality Engineer at Champion Spark Plugs. He was appointed Quality Manager in '98, which is his current position. Jim Sturgeon graduated from the University of Louisville with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1992. He received his MBA in 1999 from the same university. Jim currently works as a Human Resources Manager for Humana Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio. He has been in the human resources field since 1991. For those that knew Jim, he has not given up on his hobby of competitive marching band, drum & bugle corps and colorguard. Diana (Spiedel) Farst - I am now divorced after 18 years of marriage to the same man. I have three children; Jacqueline is 18 and a pre-vet student at Ohio State main campus, Rob is 16 and a sophomore at RV. Elizabeth is 10 and a fifth grader at Claridon. I own and operate See-More Travel and Dreamscape Limousine. I'm also a US Open Commissioner and a 4-H advisor. We built a house on Whetstone River Road in 2000 and I still reside there with the children. Linda (Schwaderer) Schwartz - I am teaching driver's ed and work 2 days a week at Morrow County Hospital. Steve Thompson - I am currently living in Marion, and working as a Supervisor at MPW Industrial Services at the Honda plant. I have been employed there for 9 years. I also spent two years in between as the Manager of the Duke and Duchess in Waldo. I am married to Sharon (Hall) Thompson, a Ridgedale graduate and we have two children, Kristen (14) and Dustin (12) both Marion Harding students. Shortly after graduation I enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for 8 years. I have been stationed in Scofield Barracks Hawaii, Korea, and my last duty station was Fort Campbell KY where I served with the 101st Airborne in Desert Storm. My wife is a Whirlpool employee. My son Dustin plays Basketball for Taft Middle School, and my daughter Kristen needs to have surgery to remove the phone from her ear. Greg Borders left the Marion area in the fall of '84 to attend Eastern Michigan University where he earned a B.S. Degree in Computer Aided Design in 1990. After working up the job ladder for a while, he landed a position of Manager of Information Services at Davco Manufacturing, Saline, MI. He manages their PC's (65+) and network (Novell/Unix/WinNT). He married in 1993 (no kids yet!) and they live near his work in Saline. Michael Lucas - I attended Capital University for a year and then transferred to the University of Toledo to major in statistics. I married Anne Curl, class of 1987, in July of 1990. We have two beautiful children Ashley (6 1/2) and Matthew (15 mos.) I currently work for United Parcel Service as a dispatcher and Anne works for Eaton-Aeroquip as a pricing analyst. Jeanette (Netta Tharp) Ralph - I have worked for Verizon (formerly GTE) since June 1984 until recently due to downsizing and am now unemployed... and loving it! I am married to Larry Ralph from Green Camp and have been for almost 17 years. We have two children, Danny is 16 and AnnaMarie is 15. Danny attends Harding High School and is in the multi-handicapped class. Danny has Down Syndrome. AnnaMarie is a freshman at Elgin High School and is a very sociable and bright child. Scot Waugh actually moved away at the end of his Junior year after going through the RV School System K-11. His family moved to Arizona in 1983 where he graduated from Greenway HS in Phoenix, AZ in 1984. He has a degree in Commercial Art from the Al Collins Graphic Design School, Tempe, AZ, 1985. He also had some misc. comm. college after that. He entered the US Air Force in Feb. 1988 and did 6 years and served in Desert Shield. John Chevalier attended Miami University, graduating with a BS in Business-Finance in 1989. In June '89, John joined the Procter & Gamble Co., headquartered in Cincinnati , Ohio. Since joining P&G, he has lived in Cincinnati; Mehoopany, Penn.; Cincinnati (again); Ventura, California; Dover, Delaware; White Plains, New York; Cincinnati (again); and he currently lives in Kobe, Japan. Jim Davis - I attended Bowling Green State University and graduated in 1989 with a BSBA in Production/Operations Management and Procurement/Materials Management. I joined the purchasing department at Honda of America, Manufacturing in Marysville, Ohio after graduation and worked there for 7 years in a variety of purchasing, materials management, and systems implementation and development roles.

In 1997, I left Honda to join PeopleSoft, Inc. as a Supply Chain implementation consultant. In that position, I traveled extensively, implementing systems at notable companies such as the United States Mint, Borden Foods, Bausch & Lomb, Sprint, Wessley Jessen/Ciba Vision, US Department of Energy/Honeywell, and many other less well known companies. I finished up at Peoplesoft/Oracle in a consulting management position in 2005.

I am now working at Battelle Memorial Institute.

Kelly (Krumanaker) Flinchbaugh has been working as the President's Office Secretary/Assistant at Marion Technical College for the past nine years. Dane Martin attended and graduated from Miami University with a B.S. in business in production and operations management and procurement management. He moved to Oklahoma and lived there about 9 years in a few different towns. He was married to Lynda Jamison and they have a beautiful little girl Haley who is now 2 years old. In May of 1999 they moved to Stevensville, MI. He works for Whirlpool Corp. as a production manager scheduling the freestanding range products at their Tulsa, OK, Montmagny, Quebec, and Celeya, Mexico facilities. Andra (Sand) Bell graduated from Bowling Green State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education in 1989, and a M.Ed in Education with a concentration in Reading from James Madison University in Virginia in December, 2001. She has taught in Marion, Ohio, as well as in Michigan, and in Virginia. She has been a reading specialist in Virginia and has just moved to Florida in December 2001. She was fortunate to find a teaching position there mid-year and is enjoying the mild winter. Andra has been married to John Bell for 7 years. They met, of course, doing theatre, and have lived happily ever after moving around from state to state. John is heading University of Central Florida's MFA program in musical theatre. Angie (Holsinger) Braun spent two years in the Navy as Electronics Tech. before being honorable discharged in 1988. She married Steve Braun (U.S.M.C.) in February 1988. Steve was stationed in North Carolina from 1988 to 1992. Two of their children were born during their stay there. (Meg-Ann, Dec. 1988 and Lindsey, Sep. 1990) They returned to Steve's home town of Lawrenceburg, Indiana. Their son Nickolas was born in 1994. They are currently residing in www.hiddenvalley-lake.com. Steve has spent the last 8 months building their dream home. They are hoping to adopt in the near future through Indiana's Special Needs Adoption Program. Steve is an Assistant Superintendent for a development company. Angie is just starting full time work again as an accounts payable clerk. (Their son just started kindergarten this year!) Mary (Gross) Hall is currently residing in Marion, OH. After graduation she attended Ohio State University and obtained an Associates degree. Due to a diversion named Jeff Hall (Northmor �87), who eventually became her husband for 3 years, she wandered around Marion, Columbus and Mount Vernon. During this time she worked everywhere from Little Caesars to Big Bear. She also assisted her husband with his computer store and found a talent in teaching and support computer software packages. In 1993 the best thing that had ever happened to her occurred when she had a son, Geordi. After a divorce in 1995, Mary finally returned to school attending Mount Vernon Nazarene University to obtain a Bachelor in Business Administration then returned 4 years later to get her Master�s in Science of Management. Matt Lawrence attended OSU to become a teacher and coach, after student teaching, he changed majors and ended up with a BS in Education w/o a teaching certificate. During his senior year, he interned for a golf publication selling advertising. After graduation, he quickly landed a job as a salesperson and within 3 mos. was promoted to sales manager. A year later he took over the company and ran it until March 1999. He then completely changed directions and is now the VP-Sales for an online advertising company called Adoutlet.com. Tracy E. Barnhart
is a Marine combat veteran of Desert Storm/Desert Shield and upon leaving the Marines in 1992 he became a police officer with the City of Galion, Ohio Police Department. Barnhart was the youngest officer to attain the rank of Staff Lieutenant and established a productive community-oriented policing program. Barnhart then left Galion to become the Chief of Police for the Village of Edison, Ohio where he continued his effective community education programs. Barnhart attained his Ohio Peace Officer's Training Commission as a Unit Instructor teaching several law enforcement and correctional courses at the state academy.

In 2000, Barnhart left law enforcement to start a career with the Ohio Department of Youth Services in juvenile corrections at the Marion, Ohio Juvenile Corrections Facility. The Marion Juvenile Correctional Facility is a maximum security male correction facility housing over 320 with over forty beds being super maximum security lockdown capable. Barnhart deals with male felony offender's ages 16 to 21with violent criminal convictions and aggressive natures.

He has a wonderful wife of over ten years, Nikki and three children Bailey, Aaron and Elise, whom take up all his spare time. He spends as much time as he can training in Brazilian Jui-Jitsu at Shawn Chitwood's in Lexington, Ohio and continues to advance so that he can train others in current officer survival techniques. Lorraine "Lori" Betz (formerly Long): Newly divorced in 2011 and after a brief move for 5 years to Tucson, AZ; I am now living back in Marion. While rebuilding my life, I am now considering either a career as a college professor of Accounting or possibly semi-truck driver. I am currently in college, with one semester left until I obtain my Associate's of Accounting; after which I will decide whether to continue or pursue other adventures. I am proud to announce I am a new Grandma as of 2 years ago (2013), and just recently found out I have a wedding to help plan for my daughter, Faithe to be scheduled sometime in 2017. Tommie C. B. (Blackledge) De Assis attended OSU and finished a 6 year commitment with the Ohio Army National Guard. She was discharged as Sergeant (E-5) in 1993, the same year she graduated from OSU. She got a BA in East Asian Literature and Language and Linguistics (English). She landed a job as Sales Manager at the OSU Computer Store. She worked there until Unie 1995 and went on her way to her birthplace (Hiroshima, Japan) on the JET Programme (Japan Exchange for Teaching). She taught in this program for 3 years and decided to stay. She's now working for a private boys school teaching grades 7-12.

During her tenure with JET, she had a chance to travel to many different countries: Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Guam and Brazil. During her time in Japan, she's met people from many different cultures, including what may be considered a bizarre chance to learn about Brazilian culture. Many Brazilian-Japanese have repatriated to Japan, so there is a large community there. She met her husband Luis, who is Brazilian-Japanese. They recently got married in Hawaii on March 21, 2000. They still reside in Hiroshima and are not glowing from radiation, but from happiness!

They speak their own creole mixture of English-Japanese-Portuguese. Tommie and her husband enjoy camping and driving in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. They will be moving in the summer of 2003 from Japan to Sao Paulo, Brazil where Tommie's husband will join his brother in running their family's auto-body repair business. Veronica (Gritt) Hasty went to Nursing School after graduation. She is an L.P.N. In 1995 she moved to Indiana where she met her husband, Chad. Jackie (LaMarr)Wallace graduated from MTC's school of Nursing and is currently employed with Marion General Hospital as a Clinical Informatics RN. She married Rich Wallace (RV Class of '88) and they have two boys, Ethan (6) and Hayden (2). Kelly James McCray
continued his education after high school at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He was employed at the New Albany County Club in New Albany. He enjoyed gardening and his daily visits with the "Caledonia Liars' Club." Kelly was a member of the Martel United Methodist Church and attended the Caledonia Memorial Methodist Church. Kelly passed away at The Ohio State University Hospital after complications from a brain aneurysm on March 15, 2000, at the age of 31. <3/17/2000>

Tina (Ruth) Braun attended Westminster College in New Wilmington, PA right after graduation. She graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1991. She immediately went to graduate school at Eastern Illinois University where she received her degree in Student Personnel Work in Higher Education in 1992. In the fall of 1992, Tina and her fiancé, Matthew attended Tentmaker Youth Ministry Training in Minneapolis, Mn. They were married in October 1992 and then served as Co-Directors of youth at a Lutheran Church in Hastings, MN for 2 1/2 years. They then moved to Van Wert, Ohio where Matthew served as Youth Pastor for 4 years at a Methodist Church. He is now Senior Pastor at Ohio City Church of God. Kelli (Slack) Heiser has been married to Jim Heiser (Harding, Class of '88) for 17 years! Their son, Justin, is now 5 and ready to start Kindergarten in the fall. They have added another boy to their brood, Brendan, who is 16 months old. Kelli started a contingent position at the Long-term Care Facility she's been employed with to spend time with the kids. Lisa (Stephens) Lectka attended Ashland University following graduation from R.V. and then assisted Kristy (Bender) Zurbrick in creating Waldo's first (and only) newspaper, "The Hometowner". She turned her Hometowner experience into a career in graphic design. She has worked in commercial printing, corporate communications and is currently employed in the Graphics Department at The Delaware Gazette. She married Rob Lectka (Ferndale, MI, Class of '84) in 1997. Rob is employed by the Delaware County Recorders Office. He has had assignments to Okinawa, North Dakota, Guam, Washington State, Utah, Spain and returned back to Spokane, Washington in 2006 for his last assignment. His duties have also brought him to many other parts of the world including Korea, Hawaii, Germany, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan to name a few. His Air Force Specialty is Engineering where he is responsible for Geographical Information Systems (GIS) mapping, surveying, drafting, and construction management. He just retired as a Master Sergeant after 20 years of service and will be starting school again at Eastern Washington University in January 2010. He met his wife, Heather, in Minot, North Dakota in 1993 and she is also in the Air Force as a Technical Sergeant. They now have 2 girls, Rachelle (13) and Ashley (10), and Ryan (5). Amy (Seaton) Royal - is currently residing in Milford, OH (Cincinnati area). She is married to Michael Royal, whom she met in 1986 when they participated in the State Fair Youth Choir together. They just celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary. Mike and Amy have 3 daughters, Aleshia - 15,Madison - 7 and Hailey - 4 (going into 10th, 3rd and KG respectively this fall). Amy is currently working at Loveland United Methodist Church in Loveland, OH (www.lovelandumc.org) and has been there 2 years. She is active with the music ministry there. Barbara (Simmers) Fisher - If I could have imagined my life now and the events that molded me to who I am today... I would have never dreamed so big! I am doing well and am extremely busy.

I am a mom of 4 wonderful boys (Gregory, Devon, Luke and Brandon). Gregory (15) and Devon (13) are 17 months apart and 5 years after Devon I was blessed with twins, Luke and Brandon, who are now 8. I currently reside in Medina, Ohio.

After graduating from River Valley in 1988, I went on to attend the Ohio State University where I received a BA in Psychology with an emphasis in Organizational and Industrial (Human Resources and Associate Relations) in 1993.

After college, I focused on my family and career. Currently, I am working for the Ohio Region Finishing Trades Institute (International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 6), located in Strongsville, Ohio. I work with a great group of trainers where we provide apprenticeship and journey worker training to over 6800 members of the Painting, Glazing, Drywall Finishing and Sign & Display Unions for all Ohio and part of Kentucky.

Outside of work, I enjoy my time with the kids and all the activities they are involved with (football, soccer, wrestling, boy scouts and cub scouts). I love photography and taking pictures; so if you ask for a recent one of me, it is hard to do when I am the one always taking them…lol!

I try to visit my family and friends in Marion often (but have not been home as much since my dad passed and mom moved to Arizona) and miss them when I can't. Email me sometime to keep in touch and maybe lunch next time I am in town... bfisher@iupat-dc6.org

Dana (Stinehelfer) Felts has been living in Florida for 11 years. She lives there with her husband Bill and 2 daughters (Amy, 11 and Amanda, 2). Rich Wallace graduated from OSU with a BA in Business Administration. He is a general manager for Fastenal Co. in Marion. He married Jackie LaMarr (RV Class of '87) and they have two boys, Ethan (6) and Hayden (2). James Dom Dera, M.D. graduated in 1993 from Ohio Wesleyan University with a BA in Chemistry. He then went on to medical school where he graduated in 1998 from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health. Andy Vick graduated from OSU in 1993 with a Bachelor's degree in Zoology and again in 1999 with a PhD in Pharmaceutical Chemistry/Toxicology. He now works as a Preclinical Scientist at Biogen in Cambridge, MA and lives in nearby Framingham, MA. He married his high school sweetheart (Mindy Seaton - also class of '89) and they are expecting their first child early in the new millennium.
