Returning to All-In Learning at RV

River Valley Community,

On September 22, 2020, the River Valley Board of Education voted for students to return for in-person learning on a Monday through Thursday schedule with Friday being an online-only day for all students. This will begin on Tuesday, October 6, 2020. Teachers will use the online Fridays to connect with all students via Google Classroom and Meet. Friday will also include time for teachers to schedule meetings with any student needing one- on-one attention. Teachers will also be able to use this time to develop and record lessons. This schedule will last through the end of the 2nd nine weeks.

The timeline for returning is:

  • Monday, October 5th: PD Day - No School for students

  • Tuesday, October 6th: K-12 students return

Students will attend Monday - Thursday with Friday being an online day for ALL students.

Next steps for parent/guardians:

  • No Change to child’s learning choice (In-person or Online Only): If your child will continue with their current choice (In-person or Online Only) no further action is needed from parents.

  • Changing child’s learning choice (In-person or Online Only): Parents have until September 30, 2020, to change their student’s school choice from:

    1. Student is currently Online Only - but want to move to In-Person learning beginning on October 6, 2020

    2. Student is currently In-Person - but want to move to Online Only learning beginning on October 6, 2020

If changing, please fill out this SURVEY by September 30th.

 Thank you,

Can I change the learning option I originally selected?

Not sure if your home internet will support online learning?

Run an Internet Speed Test.

Check your internet speed in under 30 seconds. The speed test usually transfers less than 40 MB of data, but may transfer more data on fast connections.

To run the test, you'll be connected to Measurement Lab (M-Lab) and your IP address will be shared with them and processed by them in accordance with their privacy policy. M-Lab conducts the test and publicly publishes all test results to promote internet research. Published information includes your IP address and test results, but doesn’t include any other information about you as an internet user.

To ensure the best experience for online learning, we recommend an internet speed of at least 6 Mbps up and down.
