Preschool Program

River Valley Preschool Programs

The River Valley Special Needs Preschool is a child-centered program devoted to meeting each child’s unique needs and focusing on the whole child.  We believe it is important to provide a safe and nurturing setting in which to foster each child’s cognitive, speech and language, social, emotional, self-help and motor development. Learning is encouraged through selected play activities that are developmentally appropriate for each child. Skills are integrated across activities. The teacher serves as facilitator to guide children in their interactions with varied learning opportunities. Family involvement is critical to a child’s growth. Parents are partners in the development and provision of learning opportunities. Our overall goal is to foster in all of our children a positive sense of their self-worth and a belief in their ability to be independent individuals.

    Spring Round Up

    Preschool Classroom
River Valley Local Schools will be hosting a preschool round up on Friday September 6th, 2019. The round up is offered for families interested in being considered for enrollment in the preschool program for the 2019-2020 academic year. Students will participate in a variety of brief assessments to determine current skill levels. The round up also provides an opportunity for families to participate in a screening process to determine developmentally appropriate skills in the areas of pre-academics, social/emotional functioning, communication, fine motor, and gross motor. Interested families should contact Liberty Elementary to schedule an appointment time (740-725-5600).
