May 2023 Election Information

In light of the Emergency Renewal Levy failing in November, the Board reviewed a number of options that would provide stable, long-term funding while preserving the community’s assets, and still provide a quality education for our students.

The Board voted to place two issues on the ballot for the Special Election on May 2, 2023:

  • Issue 1:  Bond & Permanent Improvement (PI) levy.
  • Issue 2:  Renewal of the 1% earned income tax that was originally passed by voters in May 2019.

It is important to note, both issues being proposed represent no tax rate increase compared to what voters are paying this year on the three voted levies currently in place.

The combination of having both the Bond & PI Levy and the Income Tax Levy are a part of the district’s plan to address immediate, long-term, and educational programming needs, as well as have consistent funding for the daily operations of the district.  Enclosed in this letter and the additional handout are graphics to more fully explain these issues.

Please review the information below to learn more about the issues on the May 2nd ballot.
